Military & First Responder Counseling

Certified Military Clinical Counselor

Certified First Responder Counselor

Every day our nation’s service members & first responders demonstrate undeniable bravery and resilience. Service members & first responders are still battling a long-held stigma against seeking mental health services & finding a qualified therapist that actually knows what you deal/dealt with is important. I am passionate about providing quality & confidential mental health care in service of those who serve us. I have always felt a pull on my heart to serve this population and made the decision to offer free sessions for veterans when I opened my practice in honor of my grandfather who served in the United States Air Force. As a civilian, I have taken several certification courses and population focused trainings, including EMDR for First Responders, on military counseling and first responder counseling and continue to engage in ongoing continued education & accruing ride along hours to ensure continued competency. I am currently enrolled in the CORDICO/NERPSC Emergency Responder Public Safety Clinician Certification. All this to say, I’m committed to truly being informed and competent to work with this unique population, not just some therapist who gets to say she works with military and first responders. I am also the partner of a current service member & police officer.

I tend to be relaxed in sessions & approach therapy as a partnership. However, I'm straightforward & direct with my clients but promise to always treat you with respect & compassion. I welcome dark humor and encourage you to feel free to express yourself however feels right for you. I’m from the South so there’s no need to be mindful of your language with me as you will more than likely hear me curse as well. As a trauma specialist, I am trained in a variety of interventions appropriate for military and first responders including EMDR, IFS, CPT, ERP, and more. I provide online therapy to individuals in Louisiana, North Carolina, and Arizona and limited in person sessions at my office in Lafayette, LA.

In my practice I offer 25 total 100% free of charge sessions for veterans, active duty, and reservists with proof of military status.

I am also proud to be partnered with The Overwatch Collective to provide affordable and/or fully covered therapy sessions to first responders & their families. I am also contracted with the Louisiana Trooper Employee Assistance Program (TEAP).
